Aliens Modelling Human Clothes?

You know, I’m all for playing with the human form in terms of exploring its movement, balance, and intricacies in art. Please note that last bit: in ART. However, I had an unpleasant surprise yesterday while walking past The Bay.

While bipedal and wearing human clothing, these strange critters are definitely not human.

Why? Why, when we are having trouble with putting forward images of beauty more in keeping with actual human proportions, are some companies insistent on portraying something evenĀ more impossible? Most mannequins show us a body type that only a tiny fraction of humans possess. This display at the Hudson’s Bay Company doesn’t even show us that. These “ladies” don’t even have knees!

What is this nonsense?

No one looks like this! What is The Bay hoping to accomplish by showing us how “flattering” their clothes look on a Star Wars alien?

Great, now we know where all the Kaminoans can get their spring outfits.

Seriously though, stop it. No one looks like this.
